Billionaire Stephen Ross, massive real estate developer, chairman of The Related Companies, and owner of Equinox, Soul Cycle, and many more luxury gym brands, is hosting a massive fundraiser for Donald Trump.
The fundraiser, held at The Sandcastle in the Hamptons, will charge $100,000 for photos and $250,000 for a roundtable discussion. The guest list boasts names like Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr., and many other senior members of the Trump administration. It's believed that the money raised will go to support Trump's reelection efforts.
The donations of Equinox's owner are especially upsetting considering the company brands itself as LGBTQ friendly. According to The Advocate, "Equinox has sold itself frequently as an LGBTQ ally, partnering with the House Ballroom community and supporting charities like House Lives Matterto assist marginalized sexual and gender minorities."
Advocate also reports that Stephen Ross gave more than $452,000 to political candidates and parties in the last election cycle, 93 percent of which were Republicans.
Now, many LGBTQ people are calling for a boycott of the popular brands.
