Her impact!

We already know Oscar- and Grammy-winning popstar Lady Gaga has a huge impact in the world of pop culture and entertainment, but did you also know she also apparently has an influence in the animal kingdom now too?

Yup, it looks like the "Stupid Love" singer isn't just a super-successful, highly-celebrated pop star—she's also the inspiration behind the name of a newly-discovered  bug species.

According to a report from LGBTQ Nation, the "Kaikaia gaga" treehopper insect was named after Mother Monster herself after being discovered by Brendan Morris, a grad student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

"If there is going to be a Lady Gaga bug, it’s going to be a treehopper, because they’ve got these crazy horns, they have this wacky fashion sense about them," Morris said about the decision to pay tribute to Gaga in bug form.

He continued:

"I love outrageous forms and colors. It blows my mind that a group that is roughly 40 million years old has so much diversity of form—diversity, I would argue, that we don’t see in any other family of insects."

Hmmm. Remember that "yass Gaga" bee that inspired the meme back in 2013?? She's probably jealous that she's not the only insect to have gained fame off of Gaga's success now.

Her impact!
