Chaz Bono to Pen Memoirs About His Transition

Chaz Bono, who famously announced he was transitioning from female to male earlier this year, plans to chronicle his transition in a memoir entitled Coming Clean, ET reported.

Born to Cher and Sonny Bono as Chastity Bono, Chaz, 40, grew up in the spotlight often appearing on The Sonny and Cher Show in the early seventies sporting matching costumes with her mother.

Chaz intends to undergo surgery, a double mastectomy, and has already begun taking testosterone, according to a People magazine article that ran in June.

In the same article, Chaz's uber famous mom Cher said, "Chaz is embarking on a difficult journey, but one that I will support. I respect the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny, and although I may not understand, I will strive to be understanding."

He is reportedly pulling down a cool six figures for his book deal, TMZ reported.

The book, which will be published by Dutton is slated for release in the spring of 2011.
