Vermont: The Next State To Legalize Same-Sex Marriage?
If approved, Vermont would join Massachusetts and Connecticut as the only U.S. states that allow gay marriage.

Vermont is one step closer to legalizing same sex marriage.
After an emotional public hearing, the Senate committee voted the bill unanimously advance to a full Senate vote.
Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas has publicly opposed the bill but has not gone as far to imply he would veto the measure.
If approved, Vermont would join Massachusetts and Connecticut as the only U.S. states that allow gay marriage.
