'Black Drag Queens Invented Camp' Reads Lena Waithe's Met Gala Suit

She did not come to play!

Lena Waithe did not come to play at the 2019 Met Gala red carpet. This year's theme is Camp and as stars like Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga, Ezra Miller, and Billy Porter came trickling in with some stunning looks, Waithe wanted to remind everyone just who exactly deserves recognition.

'BLACK DRAG QUEENS INVENTED CAMP," reads the back of the Emmy-Award-winner's suit, designed by Kerby-Jean Raymond of Pyer Moss, who walked the carpet with her. And if you look close enough, the pinstripes on the suit are actually the lyrics to anthems like Diana Ross' 'I'm Coming Out' and Chaka Khan's 'I'm Every Woman.'

Fans loved the look from Waithe:
