There’s some good lesbian-inclusive programming returning to PBS tonight, with the season 2 premiere of Last Tango in Halifax. In the story of the late-in-life love affair of Alan (Derek Jacobi) and Celia (Anne Reid), the complex lives of their daughters add complications. Of particular interest to SheWired readers is the story of Celia’s daughter, Caroline, a school administrator who is breaking with her problematic husband, John, and forging a relationship with Kate, a teacher at her school.
Last season John found out about Caroline’s relationship with Kate and outed her to the rest of the family. Celia was not supportive at first but came around to a position of acceptance. What will the new season hold for Caroline (Sarah Lancashire) and Kate (Nina Sosanya)? We can find out beginning tonight, when the second season begins airing. Check your local PBS station for times, and watch a video preview below. Also, if you missed season 1, you can catch up via streaming video at PBS.org.
