This is the only acceptable type of gender reveal party.

As ridiculous and outdate as gender reveal parties and photo shoots almost always are, a mom in Kentucky managed to get it right.

When Adrian Green came out to his mom and brother as transgender, his mom suggested they do an “it’s-a-boy”-themed photoshoot for his 20th birthday.

“After we had time to begin the transition and to become more comfortable with this new journey, I wanted to share this important moment with my friends,” Heather, Adrian’s mom, told GayStarNews. “When I suggested the idea, [Adrian] lit up, laughed shyly, and said ‘Ok, it sounds like fun.’”

And from the looks of the photos themselves, the whole family definitely approved of the gesture, and had a great time. Adrian got swaddled up in “Its a Boy” baby clothes, Heather donned a fake baby bump to pop the balloons, and even Adrian’s 17-year-old brother Lucas joined in to make the family photos complete.

Heather posted the photos to Facebook, to share with family and friends her excitement over her son’s birthday and newfound path in life.

“You are without a doubt the most fascinating human I know and I will always be your biggest fan,” the Facebook post reads.

And strangers immediately took to celebrating with the Greens. The post currently has over 15,000 shares, and almost twice as many ‘likes.’

“Now 23,000 people have seen it — so 23,000 people know I’m trans, which is a little scary but exciting,” Adrian told Good Morning America. “It was a good time and it made me feel really great to have such an amazing family that would support me like this.”
