Jesse Kortuem, a real-life hockey player who walked away from the sport out of fear that he couldn't reconcile his athletic career and sexuality, has now shared a post coming out as gay — and credited Heated Rivalry for inspiring him.
"I know many closeted and gay men in the hockey world are being hit hard by Heated Rivalry's success," Kortuem tells Out. "Never in my life did I think something so positive and loving could come from such a masculine sport. I've struggled the last few weeks to put these emotions into words, fearing the impact on team dynamics, etc."

Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang are not afraid to discuss their political beliefs on their podcast, Las Culturistas, and on their most recent episode, Rogers shared his feelings about Texas Democratic U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett's chances of winning a Senate seat: "Don't waste your money."
The two got on the topic of politics after Rogers did his "I Don't Think So Honey," the podcast's ritual rant about cultural topics. During the episode, the pair talked about their feelings on different politicians they supported in the early 2010s and how they knew their chances of winning were slim, but still supported them.

Numerous LGBTQ+ elected officials, all Democrats, are speaking out on the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Minneapolis Wednesday, saying there is no justification for ICE’s action and that there must be a thorough investigation.
Good was married to a woman and had a 6-year-old son from a previous union.

Renee Nicole Good was many things — a wife, mother, poet, singer, devoted Christian, and "extremely compassionate" human being — but she was not a "domestic terrorist."
The 37-year-old was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Wednesday morning in Minneapolis, Minnesota, sending shockwaves across the nation. The incident occurred after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) deployed roughly 2,000 federal agents in the state as part of an aggressive crackdown on supposed fraud.
