The Internet Hated SNL's Super Cringey 'Gen Z Hospital' Sketch

The second-hand embarrassment I felt after watching Elon Musk say "squad" and "bestie" was INTENSE.

If you ever really wanted to know just how out-of-touch some folks of older generations are with younger crowds, a sketch on the latest episode of long-running comedy series Saturday Night Live is going viral for all of the wrong reasons...

Entitled "Gen Z Hospital," the sketch features some of our SNL faves like Kate McKinnon and Bowen Yang, alongside host and Grimes' boyfriend Elon Musk, parodying and poking fun of much of the lingo that is currently popular with Gen Z (those born from the mid- to late-90s all the way to the early 2010s). While there are a bunch of ways this sketch could have been executed that could have actually made it funny, the whole thing came across as a thinly veiled attempt at old people taking an opportunity to mock young people, and thus, turned out cringey AF to watch.

And the internet wasn't having ANY of it, with many highlighting how the sketch is actually a perfect example of white people misusing and butchering African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) because they think it's "hip" and "trendy" to do so.

Watch the absolute trainwreck of "Gen Z Hospital" unfold for yourself in the video below...
