We so hope this pilot gets picked up!

Here’s a bit of casting news we hope comes to fruition. Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn is slated to play the earthy lesbian aunt of Natasha Lyonne’s ‘reformed wild child’ in the Amy Poehler produced pilot Old Soul, according to Deadline.

The single camera sitcom for NBC revolves around Lyonne’s Nadia, who runs a business caring for the elderly and identifies more with her older clients than with people her own age.

Burstyn’s character Eileen, a cancer survivor with a “new-age bent” is Nadia’s touchstone and rock, reports Deadline.

Rita Moreno and Fred Willard will costar. Here’s hoping the pilot gets picked up as Poehler + the amazing cast should = Very Funny! Here's also hoping Lyonne could do double duty with this and Orange Is the New Black, because Nicky is not allowed to leave!
