The Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS (a neurodegenerative disease that affects the brain and spinal cord) has gone viral, and celebrities are coming out in droves for the cause. Not only has all of this ice water dousing raised awareness, but the association has raised $22.9 million since the start of the challenge, according to the ALS Association's web site. We know we're in a drought, especially here in Southern California, and some folks are getting upset about that. The solution -- dont' wash your car for a couple of months or shower with a friend to help make up for the water used in the challenge. Meanwhile, these celebs (all of them are LGBT or allies) and their high profiles and big bank accounts have all helped to raise awareness and money. And let's be honest - it's just plain fun to watch!
