Alabama may not be the most progressive state in the union but it has taken a small step towards same-sex marriage equality, rather same-sex divorce equality. An Alabama judge recently allowed two women to legally end their marriage after a year of making a request for divorce. It's not exactly an optimistic LGBT stride, but it is a win of sorts for same-sex equality. Divorce is not the ideal outcome of any marriage, but with over 50% of marriages failing today, a few same-sex marriages are unfortunately bound to follow suit.
