Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton once again showed her support as an LGBT ally with a touching letter sent to the lesbian couple featured in her campaign announcement video.Â
Candidate Clinton reached out to Kassie Thornton and Christy Spitzer after reading a letter Spitzer wrote on behalf of MTV's "It Gets Better" project (created by Dan Savage "to inspire hope for young people facing harassment").Â
"It's not every day that you open your mailbox to find a letter of gratitude, love, and support from the potential first female president of the U.S. We felt so honored, touched, and downright humbled," the couple told The Huffington Post. "We are blown away that she is a heartfelt supporter of the 'It Gets Better Project,' and is aware how important their powerful message is. The organization does positive things for many young people all over the world!"
Clinton's note to the couple not only thanked them for being a part of her campaign launch video, but also complimented the couple's letter to the It Gets Better Project, saying she was "moved by the courage, strength, and commitment you share."Â
Beyond thanking the couple for their service with It Gets Better, Clinton congratulated them on their upcoming nuptials, something that made Spitzer and Thornton incredibly excited.Â
"For Ms. Clinton to thank us for being part of her video announcement and to know that we are getting married [in June] is just unbelievable," they told HuffPo. "... We hope she can come and celebrate our love and future with us and our loved ones! And we hope she uses her plus one wisely!"Â Â

Thornton, 34, and Spitzer, 42, met in New York City four years ago and now live in LA, according to
New Now Next. Their wedding is slated for June 13.Â
