Ruby Rose On Gender Identity, Love and Happiness

We are SO obsessed with Ruby Rose.

Thanks to the season three Orange Is The New Blacktrailer we now know that in just a few days we will all see the glory that is Ruby Rose as Litchfield’s newest inmate Stella Carlin! Although we don’t know much more than her character’s name, thanks to Cosmopolitan we know a whole lot more about Ruby Rose and her gender identity.
She tells Cosmopolitan, “For a long time, I wished I’d been born a boy. I didn’t know there were options like gender neutral or gender fluid. I later realized you could be a girl and dress like a guy.” Rose announced her engagement to designer Phoebe Dahl in March 2014. After the release of her short film about gender roles in 2014, Break Free she discussed identifying as gender fluid. She explained to the U.K.'s Guardian, "I feel like I'm a boy, but I don't feel like I should've been born with different parts of my body or anything like that. I feel like it's just all in how I dress and how I talk and how I look and feel, and that makes me happy."
The 29-year-old Australian star also opens up to Cosmopolitan about her fiancee, “As soon as I met [my fiancée] Phoebe, I knew. She's everything that I would want in somebody. She's talented, she's funny, and she also has this charitable, giving side."
We wonder how Stella Carlin will identify? Will art imitate life? We can barely contain our excitement for the OITNB season three premiere June 12!
