Looks like we'll be hanging out at Litchfield Penitentiary for years to come! Orange is the New Black's fourth season is still months away, but Netflix has already promised there's so much more to look forward to. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show and showrunner Jenji Kohan have officially been confirmed for seasons 5, 6, and 7 as well. Jenji made this very enthusiastic statement:
"Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, ‘May you lead an interesting life,’ is a curse, but I don’t live in those cultures. Here’s to keeping it interesting. Thanks, Netflix! Both thanks and you’re welcome Lionsgate! And kudos and gratitude to the stellar cast and crew and writers and producers and editors and musicians and mixers and shleppers … with whom I have the pride and honor of crafting this show. Three more years! Three more years!"
Honestley, we hadn't even started to comprehend a world where Orange is the New Black doesn't dominate our summertime queue, so thankfully now we don't have to! The fourth season of OITNB will premiere on June 17th on Netflix, so make sure to clear your schedules for the ultimate annual binging party. Congratulations to us all!
