With season four of True Blood in the can, the attention of TV viewers everywhere is now turning to the fall television lineup and the centerpiece of Showtime’s fall season, Dexter.
Visitors to the Dexter page on Showtime's website have access to a number of previews, including a 4:15 trailer featuring this season’s guest stars. It was during this trailer that my gaydar went from a steady hum to code red.
Right around the 2:10 mark we’re introduced to Jaime Batista, played by Aimee Garcia. Her character Jaime is the little sis of Sgt. Angel Batista (David Zayas) and she’s the new nanny for Dexter’s (Michael C. Hall) baby, Harrison. Garcia is known for her work on George Lopez and Trauma.
First of all, she’s attractive; she seems sweet, optimistic, sincere and honest. A beacon of light in Dexter’s dark and depressing world filled with revenge, blood and body bags.
And, most importantly, she might have been outed.
During the vid Jaime walks into a room where Deb Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) is looking over some crime scene photos. While motioning towards the pics, Jaime says to Deb, “I came in here to give you a good night KISS, not look at pictures of dead bodies.”
Kiss, did I hear that right? Come again?
This might be 100% speculation on this gal’s part, but I certainly will be tuning in this season to see how this story line unravels. A girl can dream, right?
