Every time the original Idol Kelly Clarkson releases a new album the media trots out questions about why Kelly’s fodder for so many lesbian rumors. With the release of her new record Stronger around the corner the folks at E! News thought it was appropriate to once again ask Kelly why she’s the subject of so many gay rumors.

And in the smallest news flash of the day Kelly’s answer is pretty much the same answer she gave when dogged about lesbian rumors in 2009 when she said that she’s straight and that lesbian rumors are ruining her dating life.

"People keep saying I'm gay, and I'm not," she told E! News. "I'm pretty sure I've never made out with a girl. It's just not helping me because I'm straight. No boy wants to hit on me because I make mean songs about them, and they think I'm gay."

There are many universes in which lesbian rumors would only encourage attention from the fellas, but woe is Kelly.

"Miss Independent’s" lesbian fans likely admire Kelly for her myriad of strengths including her big pipes but not limited to her reputation for being a tough-minded business woman who was not afraid to go toe to toe with likes of music mogul Clive Davis to ensure her creative vision on her third album My December wasn’t entirely quashed.  She’s also garnered quite the rep for being able to drink just about anybody in the room under the table. A whiskey-swilling woman with a creative vision and business acumen?  No wonder the boys are intimidated!

The lesbian community appears to be at peace with Kelly's admission of heterosexuality, so what's up with the mainstream media?
