The Good Wife just keeps getting better, and with casting news that Amy Sedaris will be joining the cast for a multi-episode arc as a lobbyist who’ll go toe-to-toe with Emmy nominee Alan Cumming’s Eli Gold, there’s even more to love about the critically acclaimed CBS drama.
The Strangers with Candy star and scribe joins The Good Wife playing Stacie Hall, a lobbyist who begins poaching Eli’s clients, according to TV Line.
Sedaris joins a show already teeming with strong female characters including Julianna Margulies’ star turn as Alicia, Christine Baranski’s senior partner Diane, Archie Panjabi’s resourceful bisexual investigator Kalinda and more recently Lisa Edelstein’s competitive attorney Celeste.
Regarding casting Sedaris on the show creators Robert and Michelle King told TV Line, “We love Amy. We sometimes have dreams of switching all the actors from The Wire and Strangers With Candy. The next best thing is to have Amy playing Eli Gold’s nemesis.”
