The Jets Go Co-Ed with West Side Story Flash Mob in Times Square

Last week Glee celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Oscar winning film West Side Story with an homage to the musical with Santana (Naya Rivera) as a killer Anita. Now, The Jets have gone completely co-ed --they always had tomboy Anybodys--when the professional dance troupe DanceOn performed a flash mob in Times Square on Friday to mark the film’s anniversary.

Last week Glee celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Oscar winning film West Side Story with an homage to the musical with Santana (Naya Rivera) as a killer Anita, I might add.

Now, The Jets have gone completely co-ed --they always had tomboy Anybodys--when the professional dance troupe DanceOn performed a flash mob in Times Square on Friday to mark the film’s anniversary.

The flash mob was organized by YouTube partnership network DanceOn with help from choreographer Joshua Bergasse (Smash, NBC) who re-created the film’s iconic choreography (originated by Jerome Robbins) with this dance tribute. Some of the dancers taking part in the flash mob have performed in productions of “West Side Story” and/or currently performing in the Broadway productions of “Follies,” “Chicago,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Rock of Ages” and “Wicked.”

Who doesn’t love a good flash mob? Watch here.
