Katharine McPhee Covers Christina: ‘Beautiful’ for NBC ‘Smash’

Christina Aguilera’s uplifting anthem, “Beautiful,” serves as the first song selection released for NBC’s upcoming musical comedy, Smash.

Former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee plays a wanna-be Broadway diva from Iowa with a big enough voice to catch the bosses’ attention. In this new clip, fans a sneak peek at the NBC series premiering in February, while McPhee belts out Aguilera’s hit “Beautiful.”

Set backstage preparing for a Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe, Smashed costars Angelica Houston, Megan Hilty, and Debra Messing. Nick Jonas and the legendary Bernadette Peter have already agreed to appear as guest stars.
