Melissa Gilbert Chats About Sara Gilbert's Coming Out on 'The Talk'

Melissa Gilbert, former Little House on the Prairie star, joined the ladies of The Talk on Tuesday to chat about her recent divorce and the coming out process of her sister, co-host Sara Gilbert.

Melissa is discussing her thoughts on love and marriage when Sharon Osbourne takes control of the conversation, directing it to Sara’s sexuality, by inquiring, “When did you first realize that your beautiful sister loved va-jay-jay?”

Melissa recounted a few stories about Sara and her coming out process. Melissa said that when they were teenagers she thought Sara might be gay, so she took her out to dinner to ask. Melissa said that Sara wasn’t ready at that point, and told her older sister she wasn’t gay.

It wasn’t until several years later that Sara finally opened up to Melissa while they were talking on the phone. Melissa said she was not surprised by the news.
