Casting for Showtime’s Ray Donovan is currently underway, and TVLine is reporting that The L Word hottie Kate Moennig was added to the roster.

Donovan is set to begin production this spring and will star Liev Schreiber (Salt, and the original Scream Trilogy) as private detective, Ray Donovan, who will scour the streets of Los Angeles, in an effort to solve the most “complicated, confidential and controversial problems of L.A.’s elite.”   My….he’s going to be awfully busy.

Anyway, everyone knows that behind every good detective, is the assistant who actually does the arduous work, and usually ends up solving a majority of the cases.  Enter Moennig, who will reportedly play Lena, a late 20s, edgy and intense “second in command.”

Sounds like Lizbeth Salander in Dragon Tattoo to me.

And, it keeps getting better ladies;AfterEllencaught on to some rumblings that Moennig's character will be gay.

Other cast members reportedly will include Jon Voight, who will play Ray’s father Mickey Donovan and Elliott Gould, as Donovan’s mentor.
