The L Word’s Jennifer Beals plans to make her return to the big screen in the upcoming indie jazz film, The Lord of Vinyl, according to IndieWire.
The movie, which is being billed as the “definitive film for young jazz lovers,” will revolve around a jazz-obsessed, down and out 40-something single dad, who strikes up an affair with a married post office worker (Beals).
Beals is pulling double duty on set, serving as co-star and producer. She will join first time director/writer, Dennis Bartok, and producer, Patrick Cunningham (Martha Marcy May Marlene) on the project.
Since the L Word ended three years ago Beals has appeared on Lie to Me, and Castle and had a lead role in the short-lived The Chicago Code.
Prior to the L Word Beals starred in a string of indie flicks including Four Rooms, Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle and The Anniversary Party.
Stay tuned, more details to follow on the film.
