Tammy Lynn Michaels Seeks Raise in Spousal Support from Melissa Etheridge

Actress Tammy Lynn Michaels, the ex wife of singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge, reportedly filed court papers today seeking a raise from her current spousal support check of $23,000 per month, according to TMZ.com. The $23K covers both spousal and child support payments and Michael’s claims that she's barely scraping by. She wants a bigger cut of the singers reported earnings of $177,882.00 per month. Michaels is also asking Etheridge to cover her $120,000 worth of legal bills.

The $23K covers both spousal and child support payments and Michael’s claims that she's barely scraping by.  She wants a bigger cut of the singers reported earnings of $177,882.00 per month.   Michaels is also asking Etheridge to cover her $120,000 worth of legal bills.

The two are scheduled for a settlement hearing in May. 

The duo first got together back in 2003, after Etheridge’s relationship with Julie Cypher fizzled.  Their relationship lasted seven years until they announced their separation in April 2010. 

Michaels, retired from acting back in 2005 in order to raise the couple’s children, is widely recognized for her role in The L Word and as a series regular in Ryan Murphy’s Popular

Etheridge is currently on the Fearless Love world tour and is involved with Nurse Jackie co-creator Linda Wallem.
