Saturday Night Live and Baby Mama alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will once again join forces when they host the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 13, 2013, NBC announced yesterday. Fey and Poehler will be the first female duo to host the awards show, which will air live from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

"Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year's festivities is a major coup," said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late-night programming for NBC Entertainment in a press release. "Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-staring roles in Baby Mama."

After three years of Ricky Gervais' sometimes-questionably offensive "humor" at The Golden Globes, it's exciting to see two leading funny-ladies in the spotlight for the TV and film awards.

Fey and Poehler already have a solid footing in primetime television with their NBC shows 30 Rock and Parks & Recreation, respectively. The duo have proven comedic chemistry, as evidenced by their witticisms co-anchoring SNL's Weekend Update, and appearing opposite one another with Fey as Sarah Palin and Poehler as Hilary Clinton in SNL's 2008 election skits.

These ladies might be the only ones who could convince us to tune back in to the Golden Globes; good call, Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
