Glee’s been on a month-long hiatus and returns tomorrow with the Grease episode that features Darren Criss singing “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” and also offers up the return of Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.) singing “Hand Jive.”

Although far afield from the whole Grease thing, the kids of McKinley are also taking on a little P!nk with Unique (Wade Adams) and Marley (Melissa Benoist) tackling the badass pop diva’s summer hit single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” which should be exciting – right?

Call me old-fashioned, or just old, or a Glee purist but… although Adams clearly has killer vocal chops –and I love that Glee regularly features a trans character – I couldn’t get through the song without wishing for the good old days of just last season when it likely would have been Mercedes and Santana (Naya Rivera) belting out the P!nk tune. Cue Glee’s “Rumor Has It” / “Someone Like You” mash-up here.

Maybe I’m just being judgy and missing Santana and Rachel (Lea Michele) going at it, or Santana and Brittany (Heather Morris) going at it in a different way but, for me, the Unique / Marley pairing is missing some fire, as is much of the season.

Take a listen and let us know what you think.
