The 85th Annual Academy Awards themselves were a bit of a snooze, thanks to host Seth Macfarlane's sexist, racist, and just plain unfunny jokes — because domestic violence is just hilarious, right Seth?

There were some bright spots, though. We were glad to see some of our favorite leading ladies take home the gold, including Anne Hathaway's Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in Les Miserables, and Jennifer Lawrence's win for Best Actress in Silver Linings Playbook.

Musical performances from Adele, Jennifer Hudson, and Shirley Bassey brought down the house, and Charlize Theron swept our breath away with her dreamy dance sequence with Channing Tatum — not to mention that hot new pixie cut.

And then, there was Halle Berry's dress. Holy. Cow. I'll admit to basically melting off my chair — along with another SheWired editor — when Berry took the stage in a sparkling, two-toned, floor-length Marchesa gown. Take a gander for yourself here (from both the front and the back — you're welcome). Then keep reading to see our sartorial selections from Oscars night 2013.

And we're fans of pretty much anything Kerry Washington does — it takes a fierce woman to pull off that neon salmon tone.

Bisexual True Blood actress Anna Paquin — who gave birth to twins in September 2012 — showed off her banging post-baby bod at Elton John's Oscar party in a tight, retro-inspired gown from Alexander McQueen.
