The Trevor Project, the leading national organization focusing on crisis and suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth, is hosting its second annual Summer Women's Event on Saturday, Sept. 12 at women's boutique Vince in Los Angeles.

Trevor Project communications manager Jacqueline Wing said the event "offers women an opportunity to learn more about the important life-saving work of the Trevor Project and how they can utilize their own unique talents and interests to become involved — whether it's through becoming a helpline counselor, volunteering in another capacity, becoming a donor or another avenue.

"Most importantly, the Summer Women’s Event does all of this in a fun, dynamic environment with scrumptious food and beverages, providing a great opportunity to network and socialize," Wing said.

Wing added that attendees can expect a "fun, classy event created by women for women," and that representatives from the Trevor Project will speak about the organization and discuss with guests about how to get involved. Hosted hors d`ouevres and prosecco also will be served.

Wing, who said that the Trevor Project's mission is to promote the acceptance of LGBTQ youth and to aid in crisis and suicide prevention among that group, also is a member of the host committee which includes local club promoters Michelle Agnew and Linda Fusco (from Fuse) and other women from the community.

The Summer Women's Event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Vince, 8471 Melrose Place, Los Angeles, CA 90069.

Tickets to the event cost $20 and can be purchased online here
