Bullock v. Streep: Race to the Oscar with Kisses and Death Threats

Since the announcement that lesbian faves Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) and Meryl Streep (Julie & Julia) both scoring Best Actress Oscar nominations earlier this week, we can expect their flirtatious competition to heat up even more. Bullock also nabbed a Razzie nomination foer worst actress of the year for All About Steve. Hopefully we will see more of the kissing action a la Critic's Choice Awards.

Since the announcement of Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep both scoring Best Actress Oscar nominations earlier this week, we can expect their flirtatious competition -- and death threats -- to heat up even more.

The two ladies have gone face to face at just about every awards show thus far this season. Its all in good fun though, as shown by the kiss they shared after their tie for best actress at the Critics' Choice Awards in January.

"With Meryl, when this whole thing started, I left her a voice mail going, 'You've got to watch your back. I'm gonna cut you. I'm gonna take you down,'" Bullock explained to the Associated Press. "And then she sent me dead orchids and told me to die, so I sent her a case of liquor and told her to toast to white trash."

All joshing aside, Bullock confirmed she doesn't have any ill will for her fellow nominees. She faces Julie & Julia's Streep; An Education's Carey Mulligan; The Last Station's Helen Mirren and Precious' Gabourey Sidibe for the Best Actress Oscar.

"You have to enjoy being with these women that you admire or love or like or have had friendships with or are just getting to know because you've got to take care of each other," Bullock told the AP.

"No one, at least the people that I've met, no one cares about the end result or the statue," she continued. "It's being able to sit in close proximity with these ladies ... and we have to go through this whole rigamarole and we just all look at each other and we get to know each other and you laugh at the absurdity of it all and how they pit women up against each other."

This year, its not all Best Actress nominations for Bullock though. She has been nominated as worst actress of the year for All About Steve by the Golden Raspberry Foundation - host of the Razzies. Even being nominated as worst actress, she is honored nonetheless.

"If I win, I am so showing up," she told USA Today. "I have to enjoy that as much as getting an Oscar nomination. It is the great balance in our business."
