By now you’ve undoubtedly heard of this little movie opening today called New Moon, the second film in the Twilight vampire series starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Dakota Fanning that’s based on the wildly successful books by Stephenie Meyer.
It’s been incredibly hard to have avoided considering tweens and their equally screaming moms were camped out days in advance of Monday’s premiere in Westwood just for a shot of New Moon’s Pattinson and Stewart.
And while New Moon opens today in more than 4,000 theaters nationwide — not to mention thousands of screens overseas — we have our signs on Stewart’s next project with her New Moon co-star, Fanning, and boy is it ever gay.
While Stewart’s Bella and Fanning’s vampire Jane — a member of the evil Volturi who want Bella dead — are rivals in New Moon, they’re anything but in The Runaways, a biopic of rocker Joan Jett (Stewart).
Fanning, who plays Jett’s best friend and bandmate in Runaways, divulged in a recent interview that she and Stewart, 19, have a make-out scene in the biopic.
“Yes, it happens in The Runaways,” Fanning, 15, said. “We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life. And that’s something that went down back in the ’70s.”
So while most of the country (at least those caught up in the current vampire craze) — is debating whom Stewart’s Bella should lock lips with — Team Jacob (Taylor Lautner) or Team Edward (Pattinson) — we’d much rather hold our breath for sometime in 2010 when we can see Stewart decked out as the legendary punk rock singer and playing for our team.
