Gina Carano's a 'Knockout' in Steven Soderbergh's Latest Action Flick

We all said the same thing as we watched Gina Carano -- aka "the face of Women's Mixed Martial Arts" -- get clobbered in her bout last month against Christine "Cyborg" Santos: Not the face! Brace yourselves lesbian fans because now Carano is slated to star in Steven Soderbergh's new action flick Knockout.

We all said the same thing as we watched Gina Carano -- aka "the face of Women's Mixed Martial Arts" -- get clobbered in her bout last month against Christine "Cyborg" Santos: Not the face!

After losing her place at the champ of Women's Strikeforce, Carano, who previously appeared on TV's American Gladiators as "Crush," has found her next Hollywood gig: The pretty face with the body to match has been cast in Steven Soderbergh's (Ocean's Eleven, I'm Not There, Michael Clayton) upcoming action film.

Titled Knockout, the film is described as similar to The Bourne Identity. Plot details are being kept under lock and key, but how great would it be to see Carano replacing Matt Damon in an action film series?

Sources told Variety recently that the helmer envisions Knockout as a Bond-like action film starring Carano as a woman from "the wrong side of the tracks" who gets a second chance to use her ass-kicking skills for good.

The Carano vs. Cyborg match collected more than 570,000 viewers last month on Showtime and marked the first time two women headlined an event in the pay cabler's history. Carano lost by TKO in 4:59 in Round 1.

One thing is for sure: Cyborg may be the current champion of MMA, but Carano will always be the face of the sport.

So sit back and get to know Carano.
