While I adore Jodie Foster, and her prior directorial efforts, Little Man Tate and Home for the Holidays, are fantastic films about family and relationships, nothing but a desire for irony would make me watch a Jodie-helmed film in which she stars as a woman married to a character played by Mel Gibson, who's obsessed with a BEAVER puppet. That is just rich. I mean, Tony and Emmy winner Cherry Jones is even signed on for this fuckery!

The future of the film, which centers on a depressed man who finds solace in a beaver puppet, was in doubt after Gibson was caught verbally abusing his ex-wife and spouting racist epithets (he was previously caught espousing anti-Semitic and homophobic views as well). The Hollywood Reporter says Summit Entertainment is now gearing up for a spring release on the movie.
