Michelle Clunie (Queer As Folk, CSI, The Closer) has joined the cast of the new feature film, Queens of the World (QOTW). Clunie takes on the role of Vicky Connor in the film and will star opposite Nicole Pacent’s (Anyone But Me) Maggie Connor as Maggie’s tough but supportive young mother.
QOTW is also being developed into an episodic series, in which Clunie will appear alongside her film cast mates. Also signed on to the project are Elizabeth Keener, Nikki Caster, Meghan Hall and Nat Garcia.
QOTW begins shooting in late 2010 and tells a love story reminiscent of The Notebook that occurs between two female athletes, who become separated by violence as they each strive to compete in the Women’s Professional Soccer arena.
QOTW was written and will be directed by Mel Robertson, Producer of the Academy Award-Winning film, Christmas Wish List, Screenwriting Winner ofThe New York Independent Film and Video Festival for her Screenplay, “Heroine” and multiple award-winning director of the dark newmedia project, “FEED” (as seen on Logonline, 365gay, Cherry Grrl and AfterEllen).

Currently Michelle is co-starring as Ellen Beals in ABC Family’s new series, Make It or Break It. She is also developing an original play entitled, Transcending Maggie that she penned and will star in.
