Sandra Bullock's Moving On: Files for Divorce and Adopts a Baby Boy

Lesbian favorite Sandra Bullock is getting a divorce and has adopted a baby boy. Bullock told People magazine, "Yes, I have filed for divorce." Bullock has also surprisingly become a new single mother to a baby boy named Louis Bardo Bullock, a 3-and-a-half month old baby from New Orleans. "The first time I met Louis, it was like the whole outside world got quiet," she said. "It was like he had always been a part of our lives." Jesse James responds to divorce and custody.

Sandra Bullock has broken her silence about husband Jesse James' betrayal and opened up about her new adopted baby boy.

In an issue hitting newsstands Friday, Bullock told People magazine, "Yes, I have filed for divorce."

"I'm sad and I am scared," she added.

Bullock has also surprisingly become a new single mother to a baby boy named Louis Bardo Bullock, a 3 1/2 month old from New Orleans that Bullock, 45, and James, 41, worked to adopt under secrecy four years ago. James' daughter Sunny inspired the process, according to People.

Louis was brought home quietly in January and named after Louis Armstrong because Bullock heard "What a Wonderful World" in her head the moment she laid eyes on him.

"The first time I met Louis, it was like the whole outside world got quiet," she said. "It was like he had always been a part of our lives."

The adoption took place in the middle of awards season, so the family agreed to keep the new family addition out of the headlines until a later date.

"I did not want him brought into a world that would not have been too sincere to him as I wanted," she said. "I wanted to be alone with him as long as I could, then we had to tell his story."

Bullock herself went to People magazine with the desire to share her big news.

"Maybe I needed this to happen so I could be the best mother to Louis," Bullock said. "We wouldn't know the sweet moments in life unless we had the pain. And painfully, I'm going to miss so much."

In a response to the divorce and custody, James told People,  "My whole life has been full of hard decisions."

"The decision to let my wife end our marriage and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest. The love I have for Louis cannot be put to words. Not having him around to love and to hold has left a huge hole in my heart," he added.
