As a native Angeleno, and an avid film buff, I am excited to experience not only the films at Outfest this year, but the many stimulating events happening throughout.
It’s been quite the historic year for LGBT causes and advancements, and with the 28th Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Festival right around the corner, it’s the perfect way for the community to come together and partake in a collaboration of equality and the arts. This year the stellar lineup will not only include a handful of personalities in attendance, but a slue of prolific actors partaking in extraordinary films.
Upcoming highlights include, opening night with HOWL. Audiences can catch actor James Franco’s impressive performance, portraying legendary beat poet Allen Ginsberg, along side Mary Louise Parker.
There’s also an honorary awards ceremony with the always thought provoking, fearless, and hilarious Jane Lynch, who will receive the 14th Annual Outfest achievement award.
Outfest will also be acknowledging the 25th anniversary of Wolfe releasing. Wolfe targets films marketed towards women, and throughout the years have released films such as, Katherine Brooks' Loving Annabelle, and Lilly Tomlin’s The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe.
