The UK's most popular and longest running soap opera, Coronation Street, is slated to reveal a lesbian kiss between the two teenage leads.

The Sun reports that religious fanatic teen Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) will get chummy with her friend Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) after a consoling hug turns into a passionate and unforgettable lip lock.

The teenagers succumb to their sexual desires despite both having taking vows of chastity.

A source told The Sun, "Sophie and Sian think they're just good friends but their feelings for each other have been growing."

"Things come to a head when Ryan tries to kiss Sophie. Sian runs back to Sophie sobbing -- and their emotions take over." The source added.

Rumors surfaced last year about the future storyline and actress's Parkinson and Vincent have already agreed on how they will enact the lover's embrace, with somewhat fearful consideration.

In an interview last year, Vincent said, "I've just told her as long as she sticks to her own side when it comes to the kissing scenes things will be fine. But no tongues!"

It is reported that the scenes will air in an episode on Friday, April 9.
