The Best Responses To Caitlyn Jenner's 'Sports Illustrated' Announcement

For better or worse, they make a statement.
It was recently announced that Caitlyn Jenner will be posing nude on the cover of Sports Illustrated with little or nothing more than the American flag and her gold medals. The announcement has, of course, sparked outrage from the larger transphobic community.Â
Many people struggle with a lot of her public/professional choices and ideologies, however, it's important to recognize that there are things that you can critique her on and things you can't. You can't strip her of her trans identity and/or misgender her because you don't agree with her.
Sure, she's a member of the faux-human, larger than life persona Kardashian/Jenner cult that mainstream media loves to scrutinize and obsess over, but she is still human and transitioned in front of the world. What she chose to do with this spotlight afterwards is questionable at best and exclusive and ignorant at worst.
When Sports Illustrated made their announcement, we all knew people were going to talk. Here are just a few people who brought up some thoughtful, valid points about this, without resorting to bigotry.
