He announced the news over the weekend.
Sorry fellas, Anthony Rapp is officially an engaged man!
The RENT star announced his engagement to longtime boyfriend Ken Ithiphol Saturday night, sharing the news on both Instagram and Twitter.
“So something happened tonight,” he wrote. “I asked Ken if he would marry me and he said yes. I am so very happy and I’m so very thrilled to share this news.”

Rapp proposed to Ithiphol at a party with all of their friends, and the latter shared video of the happy moment on his Instagram Stories. Rapp got down on one knee in the middle of the crowd and popped the question to his overwhelmed and clearly very surprised boyfriend, who wasted no time in saying yes.
The two have been dating for almost four years, often sharing photos of their travels together.
Rapp can currently been seen on Star Trek: Discovery, where he plays the franchise’s first openly gay character, Lt. Paul Stamets. Stamets’ husband, played by Wilson Cruz, was introduced a couple episodes later, blazing the trail for the often-groundbreaking series to finally catch up on LGBTQ inclusion.
