Shawn Mendes has a short and sweet message for the LGBTQ+ community following the passing of the Don't Say Gay bill through the Florida Senate

The proposed legislation "prohibits instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through third grade and places a vague requirement of 'age-appropriate' instruction in all grade levels," according to The Advocate. The bill is now headed to the governor's desk to sign.

In response to the news, the Canadian tweeted, "Florida, call your senators!" He also posted the website, then the hashtag, #LetFreeFloridaSayGay

The "Senorita" singer has shut down speculation surrounding his sexuality over and over again throughout the years, and this is just the latest example of his allyship.
