The first trailer for American Horror Story: 13 is here! After months of teasing fans with photos and hints about the show in interviews, creator Ryan Murphy has finally released a glimpse of the upcoming season, and it looks iconic.
Murphy is calling AHS: 13 the “Avengers” season because he’s assembling a huge cast to play fan-favorite characters from the whole 15-year run of the show.
Jessica Lange is finally returning to play all four of her former AHS characters, Sarah Paulson will play six different people, and Evan Peters will take on five. Also reprising former roles are Angela Bassett, Emma Robert, Francis Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Brewer, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, John Carroll Lynch, and Mina Suvari. A handful of new actors are also joining the cast for the first time, including Alex Consani, Tig Notaro, Paul Anthony Kelly, Avantika Vandanapu, Joey Pollari, and John Waters.
“I know which [seasons] the fans liked the most. They love Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, and they loved Cult,” Murphy told Variety in a recent interview about the new season. “Some of the actors will be playing two characters from two different seasons in the same scene. Evan was, at one point, playing two different characters and talking to himself. So it was really fun and tricky to make, and I loved that. I’ve edited almost all of them, and I think they’re really good.”
While it’s still unclear exactly what AHS: 13 will be about, the new trailer makes it look sexy — Lange is wearing black latex in one scene after all — bloody and a whole lot of fun. So here are the moments that are getting us excited for the upcoming season!
American Horror Story: 13 will premiere on September 24 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu and stream on Disney+ internationally.
