9 Reasons to Date a Runner

I’m one of those people who does not understand the appeal of running. I hate it. My knees hurt. I’m always out of breath. I’m exhausted after I run and can’t get any work done. Being a runner (for me, personally) sounds like a fate worse than hell. Somehow, though, I always end up dating runners. While I absolutely have no desire to exert any aerobic activity with someone I date, I can safely say that runners actually make pretty fabulous partners.
And here are 9 reasons why...
1. They have a hard work ethic
Runners work their asses off to the point that it’s almost obnoxious. Often, they wake up early to get a run in before work. Oh, and they don’t care about the weather. Twenty-five degrees and sleeting hail? They’re out there running. Ninety-nine degrees and humid? They’re out there working up a sweat. This hard work ethic speaks volumes to who they are as a person.
2. They have a healthy way to de-stress
Running is actually a healthy way to de-stress. If runners are ever in a mood, just tell them to go on a run, and instantly, they’ll feel better!
3. They know how to manage their time
Running takes time between the getting ready, the stretching, the post-run shower, and actual time spent running! Runners are planners who know how to manage their time perfectly. They have to be.
4. There are so many ways to playfully tease them
“Oh, are you running a marathon? I had no idea!” I can’t help but make fun of runners for always talking about how they’re running a marathon (or half marathon or 5K). Runners love to talk about running, and I believe it’s your job, as their partner, to make fun of them for it.
5. They’re hornier
Okay, so I have absolutely no scientific proof to back this up, but it’s somewhat common knowledge that working out makes you horny. Since these guys are running all the damn time, I’ve noticed that runners seem to be horny nonstop.
6. You get some alone time
This goes back to the fact that it takes a lot of time out of their day to go on runs. When you date a runner, you get to have some scheduled alone time into your day, which is really nice, especially when you’re leaving with them.
7. They can commit
It’s like, if they can commit all this time to training for a marathon, they can definitely commit to dating you.
8. They’re healthy and in shape
Runners are definitely healthy and in shape. It’s one of the main reasons that they run.
9. They have perfect legs and butts
Okay, I was kind of being polite in the last reason. What I really meant to say is that runners have GREAT butts and legs. Am I objectifying them? Yes. Yes, I am. And you know what? I’m okay with it. #buttsandlegs4dayz
