There were plenty of moments made at this year’s Streamy Awards over the weekend, but none was quite so shocking as a confession made byDrag Race superstar Shea Couleé, who put years of sandwich and Meghan Trainor-related drama to rest.

For those unfamiliar with Sandwich Gate, here’s how it all started. In 2017, Trainor had the honor of being an “extra special guest judge” on season nine nine of the hit reality competition series. She notably — and decisively — wore a unicorn onesie for the occasion. But that wasn’t even the biggest scandal that night. At the time Trinity the Tuck, while guesting on the Real House Husbands Podcast, claimed that during the filming, the “All About the Bass” singer absconded with Couleé’s lunch.

“Apparently, she took Shea Coulee’s sandwich during season nine during lunch before she could get to it. That’s what I was told,” revealed Trinity.

In response, Trainor apologized for her choice of wardrobe but vehemently denied being a sandwich burglar.

“Lmao… why,” she commented when a fan brought up the rumor on TikTok. “Didn’t eat anyone’s sandwich hahahaha I promise.”

At last, the singer has been vindicated.

As the award ceremony was winding down, Couleé took a moment — and surprised everyone — to set the rumor to rest. “Look, okay, I shouldn’t be doing this, going off script, but I feel like I have to,” the drag star began, addressing Trainor in the audience. “I don’t know if you’ve encountered this rumor that when you were on Drag Race as a guest judge you ate a drag queen’s sandwich… I made that rumor up. And I’m so sorry!”

In response to the spontaneous confession, Trainor was visibly shook. “It was you?” she asked in disbelief.

“It was me! And I just feel so bad and I just want to let you know I said it as a joke once on the mic and I feel like now – I am very serious, they have no idea. I shouldn’t even be telling you this, but I am not only a gorgeous drag queen but I am also a compulsive liar and I’m so sorry,” Couleé continued. “She didn’t eat my sandwich, ya’ll, she’s a great person, I love her.”
