This is a place for legends.

We love to see this type of excellence.

After tearing up the Main Stage on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13, Olivia Lux is nowhere near done. This weekend the drag star made her competitive debut in the ballroom scene, walking Drags Face as a member of the House of Miyake-Mugler.

On Saturday, members of the community turned out in Brooklyn, New York City for the Icon Ball pt. 3, put on by scene icons RR Chanel and Alvernian Prestige Du'Mure Versailles. Themed Fashion Rocks, the event was one of the first major balls in New York City since the pandemic.

Lux, who has attended a few functions over the past year, made her debut in the category of Drags Face. It prizes skin clarity, bone structure, facial symmetry, and charisma among other things. With leaders like Exotic Miyake-Mugler, who is the overall mother, Mugler is well known for face. Lux seemed to be walked out by Naja Miyake-Mugler, who is a legend for Drags Face. Naja is also the NYC mother of the house.

Lux ended up getting her tens but lost her battle to a 007 competitor.

Earlier this year, the New York-based performer announced she was a part of the house on Twitter. The news comes after Miyake-Mugler won season two of Legendary.

She's, of course, not the first to be affiliated with ballroom. Mariah Paris Balenciaga is well-known in ballroom for the category of face and Akeria C. Davenport has competed as well. Tamisha Iman is also familiar with the Atlanta scene while Aja recently joined the House of LaBeija and has been walking both runway and performance categories.
