The newest member of the legendary RuPaul’s Drag Race multiverse is Drag Race Sweden (aka Drag Race Sverige). Fans have known about this spin-off for a few months, but now the host for the latest international edition of the ultimate drag competition has been revealed.

On Sept. 6, Entertainment Weekly released the news that drag artist Robert Fux is stepping into the hosting chair for the upcoming season. EW reports that the artist is 43, and was born in Sweden. While he grew up in Austria, he’s been in Stockholm, Sweden since 1998. He won titles such as Miss Pride in his home country and went on to become an actor in Sweden’s theater scene.

There are more than 15 international and All-Star Drag Race series either currently airing or upcoming and even more spin-offs like RuPaul’s Celebrity Drag Race. But Fux says there are still suprises in store from Sweden.

“I’m incredibly delighted and honored by the task to host Drag Race Sweden!” Fux shared in a statement. “Not many countries in the world have had such a vibrant and diverse drag culture as Sweden and finally we’ll get to display it to the whole world.”

“I look forward to seeing the queens’ craftsmanship and performance as they offer the television audience extra everything and compete for a worthy title,” Fux continued. “It will be a unique blend of competition, love, show, and glitter.”

World of Wonder announced Drag Race Sweden back in April 2022 and casting began back in May 2022.

“Drag Race and the art of drag are worldwide phenomena that continue to attract global viewers, so we are thrilled to introduce a fierce new group of queens with Drag Race Sweden,” Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey, the founders of World of Wonder, said in a statement in April. “As our drag family continues to grow, we look forward to watching these new queens sashay onto our screens.”

When this news dropped, they shared that Fux is the “perfect choice” to host Drag Race Sweden. Season one of this series premieres to the world in early 2023 on WOW Presents Plus and SVT in Sweden.
