From asking why there aren't more lesbian bars in the US to interviewing members of an all-female Kenyan tribe, 'Broadly' sure has some cool stuff in the pipeline.
There's no denying that Vice magazine, although a sharp and challenging read, isn't traditionally a platform for women's issues. Frustrated by this and sensing a gap in the market, former Jezebel editor Tracy Egan Morrissey approached Vice Media with plans to set up a women's site, Broadly, which launched yesterday. Stories currently featured on the site cover everything from women who smoke pot and riot grrrls of color to Planned Parenthood protests and abortion pills. Readers are promised upcoming articles and videos on lesbian bars, all-female tribes, a bit of shooting the breeze with Rose McGowan and other delights. Check out the teaser video below:
