The Lesbian Pride March is a form of activism, like gay pride parades, where lesbians make themselves visible and distinct from their gay brothers by coming together as a specific community of women who love women. The "Dyke March," as it is sometimes referred to, is also a symbolic act where lesbians take back the term "dyke" and use it as a source of empowerment.
