POWER UP, the non-profit that has produced award-winning shorts including
D.E.B.S., Prom-troversy, Little Black Boot and the break-out feature hit
Itty Bitty Titty Committee, honored its 2008 Ten Amazing Gay Women in Showbiz this Sunday at Social Hollywood.
In the wake of the election and Prop. 8’s passage, POWER UP’s annual event brought out the party girl and the activist in everyone. This year the organization, spear-headed by Stacy Codikow and Lisa Thrasher, honored Michaline Babich, Gaye Ann Bruno, Cheryl Dunye, Karen Flischel, Jenny Fulle, Barbara Gaines, Nancylee Myatt, Lisa Sherman, Samantha Sprecher and Suzanne Westenhoefer.
SheWired.com contributor Jenn Kennedy was on hand to capture it on camera. Here’s a look at some of the festivities.
