Update:

Jack Ketsoyan of Full Scope Public Relations sent PRIDE a statement around 2pm PT. "The situation with Nikita, who is legally female, being placed in a men’s unit of a Florida jail is extremely disturbing and dangerous. This decision made by the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department directly violates their protocol, which mandates that transgender inmates are classified and housed based on safety needs and gender identity. Nikita has been released and is now safe. Thank you for respecting her privacy during this time.”

Original story:

YouTube star, makeup artist, and influencer Nikita Dragun was arrested on Monday night.

Reports say that the 26-year-old, whose real name is Nikita Nguyen, was caught walking around a luxury Miami hotel pool naked. According to Page Six, "Hotel staff claimed that when they asked her to put her clothes back on, she intentionally threw water on them, which is when the cops were called."

When the police arrived, Dragun was back in her hotel room playing loud music. Officers knocked on the door "several times before she finally greeted them" and when they began explaining hotel rules to her, she allegedly slammed the door in their faces. She then opened it again and asked the officers, “Do you want more?” Then she threw a water bottle at them.

Dragun was arrested and charged with felony battery on a police officer, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor battery. It's unclear if she spent the night in jail or was released on bail but in an upsetting video circulating around Twitter, court footage shows Dragun, a trans woman, asking the judge if she has to stay in the men's unit.

It seems as if Dragun was also misgendered on her booking profile. In the clip, the judge mentions "proper accommodation" for her but it's not clear where she ended up.

Dragun has over 3.54 followers on YouTube and over 9 million on Instagram. She has not yet spoken about the incident publicly.

While she founded the first trans-owned beauty brand, she's had her fair share of problematic incidents over the years, including name-dropping trans icons in her music video "D.I.C.K." where she seemingly wanted to expose rapper Tyga, reality star Harry Jowsey for sliding into her DMs and even more intimate details.
