Cat cafés initially gained popularity in Japan, but have since spread around the world. If you’re lucky enough to have a cat café in your area, you need to ask someone on a date immediately. Cat cafés are, paws down, the most purrfect lesbian date spot ever, and here's why ...

Cat cafés are continually growing in popularity, but having a first date there is something different. Most people are still doing dinner and a movie, or just meeting at a regular cafe. Having your first date at a cat café is a great way to start a unique relationship that will only build from there.

Pets are a big conversation among couples when it comes to sharing likes and dislikes. Some women are cat people, some love dogs, and many are a mixture of both. If you’re choosing a cat café as the date, it’s likely you’re a fan of our feline friends, so meeting here is a great way to make sure she feels the same way.

Cat cafés are generally a pretty safe space to be who you are. There also aren’t a lot of men who frequent cat café’s, so it’s a great place to come when you want to be surrounded by more like-minded individuals. Plus, you get to hang out with cats while you chat. What could be more safe than that?
While I’ve met just as many lesbians who love dogs as lesbians who love cats, lesbians being totally obsessed with cats may be the least offensive stereotype on the planet. Cats are awesome. They’re like strange, independent aliens who came to our world to freak out humans by magically appearing in rooms with shut doors. So, you might as well embrace it and pick the most lesbian first date spot ever.
A daytime cat café date is the ultimate casual date. It takes the pressure off of what you’re going to wear, because it’s just going to be covered in cat hair anyway. The ambiance is nonexistent unless you just love cement floors and giant cat trees. There’s coffee, and sometimes food, but the real focus is on getting to know each other and hanging out with cats. It’s the perfect place to decide whether or not you want to continue the date in a more intimate setting.
Sometimes conversation is hard on the first date when you're trying to figure each other out. Fortunately, simply being inside of a cat café will give you something to talk about, even if it's only how cute the cats are or going over all the different species.
So, if you walk into a cat café and she kicks a cat or something, that’s obviously a bad sign. But you can learn a lot from more subtle actions, too. She might gravitate toward the most social, playful cats, or she might spend time just hanging out with the anti-social cat, giving him a little space. You’ll probably get a better idea of who she is just by watching how she interacts with cats.
It’s hard to be upset about an afternoon spent with cats. If the conversation fell flat, and you decide not to go on a second date, at least you still got to cuddle some kitties.
