24 LGBTQ+ TV Shows and Movies Coming In May 2023

Queen Charlotte, Fear the Walking Dead, Drag Race All Stars, Monica

    Netflix; AMC; Paramount+; IFC Films

I hope you’re ready to get your binge-watch on this month because this May is full — and we mean full — of must-see TV and movies.

Feel like hanging out at home with popcorn and friends (or a lover)? No worries, we’ve got you covered with new and returning series with the queer characters and storylines you’re craving. Or maybe you want to get out and enjoy a night at the movies, and good news, we’ve got you there too!

Here are the queer and queer-inclusive television and movies you don’t want to miss this May.

All film and series descriptions are courtesy of their respective studios and networks.

    A Small Light - May 1

Based on an inspiring true story, Miep Gies was young, carefree and opinionated — at a time when opinions got you killed ― when Otto Frank asked her to help hide his family from the Nazis during WWII. Told with a modern sensibility, A Small Light shakes the cobwebs off history and makes Miep’s story more relevant than ever, forcing audiences to ask themselves what they would have done in Miep’s shoes; and in modern times, asking if they would have the courage to stand up to hatred. Some stood by, Miep stood up.
